Personal Information and GDPR

Woodnewton carries out research that involves collecting people’s views and experiences and we have a set of policies in place to ensure that this information is handled legally and ethically. We only collect personal information for specific research purposes and with the full informed consent of participants. We hold that information securely, in line with industry best practice, and we do not share that information with any other organisation without the express consent of the participant. We never give, sell or exchange personal information with third parties, including for marketing. All personal information is disposed of securely following the completion of the project for which it was collected. We also insist that any suppliers or subcontractors who compile or handle personal information on our behalf comply with these requirements, and we verify this through regular audits as part of our Quality Assurance framework.

Our IT systems and processes have been evaluated as meeting the security and GDPR requirements of the UK government as part of our membership of the Office of Government Commerce framework agreement for the supply of market research services. We have been registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office since 2008 (Ref Z1474143) and we adhere to the standards of the Market Research Society and similar UK and international professional bodies. For more information on how we comply with our legal and ethical obligations in respect of GDPR and personal data, and with research ethics, or if you have a concern or complaint, please contact Zaaki Ahmad (zaaki@woodnewton.com).
